Title: Introducing Linux in a complex real time system

Description: The linux kernel is becoming more compatible and
faster every year. This makes it a widely used base in everything from
personal computers to real-time systems. A complex real-time system
consists of specialized hardware which might not be supported by the
kernel.

The thesis work aims at trying to make the linux kernel run on a
specialized real-time telecommunication hardware. This calls for cross
compiling of the kernel, development of customized drivers and bootstrap
customization as well as debugging of the different modules.

The thesis work contains the following steps:
- Investigate what have been done on this area before.
- Study and analysing the current software.
- Introducing the kernel.
- Verify/test the performance.
- Report writing.
