Bachelor and Master Theses

Title: Performance penalties when emulating OSE in a Linux system.
Subject: Computer Science
Level: Advanced
Description: The purpose of the thesis is to study the effects of running OSE applications on a Linux machine with a thin API emulating the OSE API. (We are not considering system behaviour in this thesis). The study includes (but is not limited to) the following parts:

1)Deeper Study on OSE, OSEAPI, OSE, and Linux (Major focus on performance and IPC issues)
2) How to automatically convert pure OSE programs to OSEApi+Linux
3)Measure and analyse a test setup with respect to performace penalties
4)Academic stuff:
Probe effects when measuring the above issues.
Analysis of OSE-Linux with respect of size, architecture, synchronization, ipc and scheduling.
Focus here will though be on pure end to end performance in general and IPC in particular.
