Title: Automated Code Generation from Action Language Enhanced UML Models

Description: Model-driven engineering (MDE) aims at shifting the focus from coding to modelling; the final goal is to reduce software development complexity by tackling the problem to a higher level of abstraction, i.e. closer to the concepts pertaining to the specific domain under-study. One of the fundamental steps related to MDE is code generation: the development has to smoothly proceed from design models to corresponding generated target platform code. Whereas, it would end up in an even more complicated process if not properly supported, making the user forced to revise machine generated source implementation.

This thesis proposes an experimentation of automated code generation in the telecommunications domain: starting from UML profile enriched with behavioural aspects, corresponding code is generated in an appropriate target language. Evidence has to be given about the completeness and correctness of the generation process.
