Title: A Real-Time Java realization of the ProCom component model

Description: This thesis is part of a large project called PROGRESS, which aims at providing component-based techniques for developing embedded systems. One of the key technologies developed within PROGRESS is the ProCom component model.

ProCom design models can be synthesized into C code. In the spirit of model-driven development, we want to enable further realizations of ProCom. The aim of the thesis is to provide a Real-Time Java realization of ProCom. In other words, the student is expected to develop a code generator which will synthesize Real-Time Java code from ProCom design models. The code generator will consist of multiple model to model and model to text transformations using the Acceleo and QVT technologies.

The expected outcome of the thesis is:
a) a mechanism for synthesizing ProCom models into Real-Time Java code, integrated into ProCom's development environment, and
b) a thesis report describing the above.
