|Title:||A Mapping Study of Automation Support Tools for Unit Testing|
One of the benefits of using unit testing is in the early detection of software defects. By resolving defects on a unit level we spend significantly smaller effort compared to fixing them on an integration or system level. One approach to support developers in unit testing is through efficient usage of automation that goes beyond mere automated execution of test scripts.
Purpose of this thesis is, to:
1) systematically investigate and present current tools that support automation of unit testing.
2) characterise listed tools by language, domain, testing technique used and level of automation it can achieve
3) perform a case study comparison of short-listed tools by using some open source software as a code base
