Title: Model-Driven Engineering for Mobile Robot Systems: A Systematic Mapping Study

Description: Model-Driven Engineering (MDE) can be considered as the right tool to reduce the complexity of Mobile Robot Systems (MRSs) development through its principles of abstraction, separation of concerns, reuse and automation. The goal of this thesis is to identify, understand, and classify existing research on MDE for MRSs through a systematic mapping study. The outcome of this thesis is meant to help researchers and practitioners in identifying limitations and gaps of current research on this topic, its potential, and its applicability in practice in the context of real-world software projects.

The thesis will consist of the three well-established phases that characterize systematic studies in software engineering: (1) planning the review through a formal protocol, (2) conducting the review by collecting, analyzing, and classifying relevant research on the topic, and (3) reporting and discussing the findings.
