Description: In real-time systems research and education the tool FpsCalc (current version is 2.02) can be used to solve equation-systems for Response-Time Analysis (RTA) equations. FpsCalc is however not suited for modern type of RTA-equations (e.g. approximate RTA or RTA for tasks with offsets). Thus, there is a need to investigate how FpsCalc can be extended to allow modeling of novel types of RTA equations and to implement such modelling in a new implementation of FpsCalc version 3.

The amount of work is probably 30hp for one student or 15hp for 2 students.

Prerequisites: Embedded Systems 2, or a real-time systems course which include scheduling analysis with response-time analysis equations. Basic understanding of compilers & languages are helpful.

Misc: It is likely that the source code for FpsCalc v2 is lost – and even if recovered the compilation chain used to build FpsCalc v2 is 20 years old and the source code may prove useless. It is likely that an implementation have to start from scratch and thus
