Copyright 1996 by John Halleck In order to justify the funding for electronic mail and news, you are asked to compile a list of how many users use each of the newsgroups and what machines you get mail to and from. You compile this list. Your company bigwigs notice that 350 users at your site read the "alt.demons" newsgroup. Since there is a company policy against demon worship, they are concerned. Should you comply with a request to give a list of those people that read the newsgroup? Do you give a list if you know that they intend to fire anybody on the list? (Does this answer change if you once read the newsgroup to see what it was like?) Do your answers change if the newsgroup is "alt.homosexual", "alt.vandalism", "misc.legal", "alt.sex.kiddyporn"?
