  • [ 4 ] too many extents but not all
  • [ 5 ] the first experince I've every had like this
  • [ 4 ] It looks like a self-education.
  • [ 5 ] i knew what the course was about, but it was a totally different thing doing it. it was a great experience
  • [ 4 ] course is good
  • [ 3 ] Well didn't have any expectations so I could not be dissapointed. One could even say it exceeded them, beacuse my expectations were that this was a not so difficult course ;)
  • [ 5 ] yes it was a nice course and it fulfilled my expectations.
  • [ 5 ] I have expected really a lot (I knew a lot about the course before I enrolled to it), as I have been well prepared by the teaching staff and older students who had the course before, but still, in general, it was better than I imagined in my best scenario.
  • [ 5 ] i have learned to work with different people, different way of mind
  • [ 4 ] Yes i am quite statisfied with this course.
  • [ 4 ] Yes i am quite statisfied with this course.
  • [ 3 ] yes
but the main problem of distributed groups their should be all distributed groups
  • [ 4 ] The project assignements were not quite what I expected but not at all bad. (not enough Java for my taste)
  • [ 5 ] I was expecting less, so the answer is yes.
  • [ 5 ] i think it was the best course i ever had

  • [ 4 ] a lot of work to do... but it pays up ind the end...
  • [ 4 ] very good
  • [ 4 ] Guest lecture is good.
  • [ 4 ] good
  • [ 4 ] Pretty good concept, although a very difficoult time table. I can speak for my self only, but I think others would agree...I found it difficult to sit in the classroom for 5 whole hours. The course should be seperated to twice a week.
  • [ 4 ] I liked the project, lectures I liked a little less :)
  • [ 4 ] yes i think that it was a great thinking of people who tried their best and we studies this course. The projects offered in this course were really interesting.
  • [ 5 ] The course is very well designed, as the possibility to run the distributed projects "for real" is a very valuable experience. The idea of making one big project instead of more little exercises sounds much better to me.
  • [ 5 ] it had a good combination of lectures and actual project work.
  • [ 5 ] it's really the level i'm waiting for
  • [ 4 ] its good.
  • [ 4 ] its good.
  • [ 4 ] There is still very little place for improvement.
  • [ 5 ] See question one ;-)
  • [ 4 ] Lectures werent the most important thing, so it has been taken in the right mesurement
  • [ 5 ] For students like us i think it's really important to do a such project with different culture and countries

  • [ 3 ] face some problems in web page and Wincvs. i hope they should not be occure next time
  • [ 3 ] not that up-to-date about schedules and news regarding videoconferences
  • [ 4 ] its also good . i never faced any problem regarding website and any thing. But DSD homepage which is hosted by fer is very difficult.
  • [ 4 ] A good and useful web page. CVS support. No down sides there. Although..well this is I will leave for the question 12 :)
  • [ 4 ] Not perfect, but very good
  • [ 5 ] yes it was great effort of all the people who were on the adminitrative side.
  • [ 4 ] FERWeb DSD site was a really useful place for all the informations. But, news could have been updated / added more frequently, in order to prevent some questions about DSD schedule, administration, events to come...
  • [ 4 ] the dsd web page on the FER web site has a horrible layout, it has two massive pictures next to each other with a tiny stripe of text going down the middle, and it requires horizontal scrolling to get to the login box at the right, unless you have a huge screen resolution.

    otherwise, support was good.
  • [ 4 ] good
  • [ 4 ] yes it supports everything but still it needs some improvements.
  • [ 4 ] yes it supports everything but still it needs some improvements.
  • [ 5 ] The mail responses were fast and exact, and everything was available on time.
  • [ 3 ] Personal support was excellent but web pages leave a thing or two to be said.
  • [ 4 ] You could take a look at previous documentation which was really useful
  • [ 4 ] Maybe a bit strange sometimes ... but ok

  • [ 4 ] like css, JS, little bit of web design...
  • [ 4 ] experience a lot about many things i.e. culture, behaviour and skills and many more things of the people from different countries
  • [ 4 ] I have learned how to work in a "real world", how to work in a big group (there are 8 people in the group), and how to communicate with others who have the different culture with me.
  • [ 5 ] ..how important it is to communicate, to use knowledge in practical work and to learn new technologies fast on basic knowledge.
  • [ 4 ] i learned how to do a proper software project when there is a customer also envolved in project development.
  • [ 3 ] Well have learned some about administration. Nothing new about programming skills though, but that because of my project.
  • [ 5 ] A lot of experience with distributed projects
  • [ 5 ] I learned more then a lot
  • [ 5 ] it was great experience for me and i learned a lot in this course. I will remember this course forever.
  • [ 5 ] Much more than I ever expected. I have learnt a lot about different technologies (we used a big number of technologies in our project). Also, as a Team Leader, I have learnt a lot about the process of designing / developing the project, managing the project, working with people whom I don't know well, etc. Solving "human" problems in a team was a hard one, but is surely important for the future. Experience in "selling" the project to the customers was a new one to me, and it was worth to try it.
  • [ 4 ] i didn't learn too much regarding the technologies we used, but that's because our team chose to use technologies i was already familiar with.

i learned a LOT regarding team work, distributed development, and sticking to deadlines.
  • [ 5 ] in c#, in management, and in english (i hope)
  • [ 4 ] Especialy how to do work with the client who is out off my reach. but one thing try to make groups distributed, i mean teams should distributed. like in our case all of the members are from same university.

  • [ 4 ] I have worked with technologies I was already fairly familiar with, but learned a lot on inter-personal
  • [ 4 ] Very good experience towards teamwork
  • [ 5 ] A lot as i've written before

  • [ 3 ] sometimes little bit boring...
  • [ 4 ] good and i think it should contain more study material.
  • [ 3 ] Ok...nothing special. But I find it difficoult to listen to anything that last more then 1 hour, so maybe it's just me :)
  • [ 4 ] The lectures were good but i think there should be some more lecture in the course.
  • [ 4 ] Very nice indeed. It was a pitty that there were just a few lectures and that the course didn't last longer. I would like that I have learnt more about managing the projects (especially solving conflicts) in theory, before the project work started, as some problems in team occured which I had to handle "on my own".

Altough the theme was OK, because of some problems in sound quality, it was a bit hard to follow it. More real advices from US/SV experiences would be useful (this looked more like a presentation for some conference or something).

  • [ 5 ] Very time consuming, but i liked it
  • [ 5 ] lot of fun
  • [ 5 ] Yes it was excellent to work i group.
  • [ 5 ] It was a great experience and a chance to learn on things which we have done well, but also (even more!) on the errors which we have made. Although the project workload was heavy, I knew that will happen in advance, so I don't complain :)
  • [ 4 ] the project were great, but it would be good to have more project to choose from next year. that way the repeating projects can be avoided.
  • [ 5 ] a bit difficult to start but great to realize
  • [ 4 ] Good, but i think teams should be distributed especialy in this course.

  • [ 4 ] a bit short
  • [ 5 ] Beside video conference, we have internal meeting every Monday via MSN.
  • [ 5 ] work mixed with a lot of fun :)
  • [ 3 ] good and give us time to learn requriement needed by the customer from us.

  • [ 4 ] We were consistent in holding the meetings every week (one or two times a week), in order to keep the motivation and involvement on the high level, they helped us, but the majority of conclusions was done in informal meetings or by using e-mail.

  • [ 4 ] We had not that much communication with customer.
  • [ 5 ] good when ever i want to see my customer it is availble to meet
  • [ 2 ] Mm our support was to come from sweden (LoCo Project).. We found that they themselves couldn't explain parts of the project. But suppose that is a very realistic probability when dealing with customers ;)
  • [ 5 ] It was really great. I specially thank to my Customer.
  • [ 4 ] Good, but it could have been better. Our team received a lot of support and encouraging from the customers after the presentations (which was very nice to hear, and a motivation to continue the work, thank you!), but we expected more concrete feedback during the work, help in solving some problems, checking the product during the work in order to better suit the customers' needs.
  • [ 5 ] the project supervisors kept us informed. also, they didn't change requirements after the initial version, which was very good. another team we spoke to had their requirements changed during the course, which really messed up their work.
  • [ 6 ] don't know really
  • [ 4 ] yes all of the members supports eachother, in good way. and also our supervisor provide maximum support.

  • [ 5 ] really great...
  • [ 4 ] very cooperative and helping people
  • [ 5 ] we communicated a lot about work and lot of other things :)
  • [ 3 ] it seems to be good
  • [ 5 ] No problems here neither :)
  • [ 5 ] it was great but we miss it because we were on the same side.
  • [ 4 ] Very well. Unfortunately, some members at MdH had specialized knowledge in technologies which we weren't using, but no basic knowledge in other technologies helpful for us, so they had to learn more in order to finish some easier tasks, while other members (with broader basic knowledge) were working more for the project and have been more "productive". Nevertheless, it seems the cooperation was quite good, especially in the second part of the project, when people learned more about each other.
  • [ 4 ] we had regular meetings and communicated a lot, so the cooperation was good in general. not all students put in an equal amount of work, though.
  • [ 5 ] i was really sad to see them only 2 days, too short and i hope see them soon
  • [ 3 ] As we work localy so i can not say anything. but i think next time try to make every group distributedly.

  • [ 4 ] i can bear that
  • [ 5 ] ..and I enjoyed working on the project it most of the time.
  • [ 4 ] on several occasions it was heavy, but not all the time
  • [ 4 ] as a project leader its a tough job when dealing with the group members belonging from different cultures.
  • [ 3 ] Didn't work as much as some other team members but it still filled up my timetable nicely ;)
  • [ 4 ] Yes i think that it should be great as we succeded to complete our project on time.
  • [ 5 ] As a Team Leader, I had to work a lot especially in the beginning of the course, when designing the project, and in the end, when the project had to be finished. Managing people was a "full-time" job, but I also had to work a lot on tutoring some members, especially in the beginning. I had to know a lot about the project, including the most of the technical stuff, which was a lot of work.
But, as I'm partially responsible for that because of some errors done in managing the project, I cannot complain :-)
  • [ 3 ] heavy but just as much as i'm waiting for
    and good to learn
  • [ 4 ] when we divide the work, and in our team every member is very courageouse to provide help. so did not feel that my work load was very much.

  • [ 4 ] It shoul be great.
  • [ 4 ] No complaints for the equipment. I would only suggest to better organize the videoconference team meetings, to put a schedule more days before, and not to forget to reserve the MdH teleconference room.
  • [ 5 ] the video conference room we were using was very well equipped.

What can be improved in the course?
  • From the beginning it is not clear what to do in the project.
  • There's nothing special I dislike... The course was very well organized.
