The only course i know that has a project in different countries, learning how to deal with the distand. The course and its structure except it fails hugely due to the students allowed to participate in the course as the work and the performing team members suffer and are pressurized due to the negative actions of the non-performing members. The course will be a failure if the selection (especially from the Swedish side) is not done after evaluation. motivating and gave me the opportunity to learn a lot about team work and new tech. Pure work. Really quality and useful. Great experience. The course was really good to know how to work in a distributed environment. excellent, it would be better if this final presentations and many deadlines and tasks were not at the same time as the exames are. interresting, i didn't expect to so close of people who are so far. Great because it's finished. It was very good Excelent experience full of challenges and gave many interesting experiences related to cultural issues, professional environment, new technology. Also I was able to compare my own professional level to the level of others. I would strongly recommend this course to other students. The course was excellent, It provided real environment for software development. Excellent. But there happened some controversies in team. But all those disputes disappeared within days. Satisfying to excellent. Not yet excellent, but a bit more than satisfying. To achieve true greatness, the course needs to change a few things and follow up on latest technologies. When getting at the FER I thought that every course will be like this. Soon I changed my mind and thought that something like this exists only in america. I'm very glad I found something like this at FER." We can say course interesting and their were many things to be learn like working in distributed environment and how to over come communication barriers. Excellent. Choose it if you have chance. good and i learned alot. I think the credit should be more,7.5 is less for this huge work. The course was challenging and interesting . Excellent.. It will give you a scope to understand about all the stages in a software development. It was a very good experience. I think the course presentations need more syncronising because it's a bit boring ("Sweden can you hear us? Yes." is all of the communication between presentations). It was very great course, as it is a challenge to work in a distributed area and from different background. The course is excellent considering the fact the set up is almost industry like. Fine. It was very good that we had a chance to be part of distributed team and see how is to work altogether when you are apart. Overall this course was excellent. It was very memorable time that I worked with my team mates to achieve to full the course requirement. We worked together and long discussion with each other and gain lots of knowledge to talk with each other. For this course, I found loving friends and never forgets this time. really great experience. i have learned a lot from this course and now i feel confident enough to work on any distributed project. excellent and there was a lot of work and a lot learning as well. Very good and interesting. Swedish side could be more proactive. It is a nice implementation as the course defines how to communicate and develop a software in a distributed environment. In my opinion this course was one of the best I had. I think that more courses should be like this. Overall i like the course very much, there are things here and there that could be better but i think its very useful and interesting course. I think this was the best course I was enrolled into during my studies at FER. Whole course was good experience for me. I learn so many new things

Comment - The course has fulfilled my expectations
Expected to work a lot, learn a lot, all of it was provided with a good mix of conflicts involved. Although the supervisor needs to improve the involvement and the activeness.A lot of work. Very high quality of course and gained knowledge. Improved my English. I expected that we'll have regular lessons and then use them in our projects, but it turns out that we got practical knowledge for working in real projects. Now I understand that it isn't possible to teach all the technologies that were used in all of the projects. And there was no time for that really.Yes, this course help me a lot to learn many things like team work. working in team with many different people, it was a great expirience to be in a team where half of us have no possibilliety to sit at the same table and discuss things, and yet, we had not one conflict, everything was going smoothly and efficiently. I learned about culutural differencies and remote organisation Maybe not all the participants had adequate programming knowledge. It would've if I had more competent teammates. The course has fulfilled most of my expectations. It would be better if more countries could participate in this course. When I joined this project, I thought that this course would be just like another course for software development. But I was wrong, the project was designed beautifully to challenge the student on every aspect eg Coding, Communication, learning, documentation, creativity, planning etc. Always, I wished to work in any distributed project development team. My expectation has been fulfilled. I would say that depends on how you define expectations. I didn't expect this to be a smooth ride, but it was more or less and I had to do considerably less work than expected. As a whole course was good for me. yeah this course fulfilled my expextations. I wanted to know about the software development cycle from requirements to implementation. Course gave a clear idea about it.That is what I expected and I got it. That's how my expectations are fulfilled. I knew the course from other student who took it previous years and as they told me it is challenging and very different course. And it was as i have expected it. To a large extent yes. I was expecting more in terms of managerial aspects. There could have been more guidance from the supervisors. Yes, because I expected a course like that. And no, because I expected that the other side will be better then they are. This was my first course and I like very very much. I found many friends and learn multi-culture environment. My team mates worked together to fulfill the goal. absolutely. Yes, it fulfilled my expectations and I could not believe that we can make such a big project. Yes, i have learn many things from this course. programmatically and comminicatively i am fit. I thought that I will have to work hard and I had to. But I didn't know that I will feel so good after we have finished our project. The course mostly fulfilled my expectations. Good advisory, advises, definition of things which has to be done. One thing i was not happy with was the time we had to present our work i think more time is needed especially for final presentation. It was exactly what I expected. A lot of programming and no exams.;) A lot of work on documentation was exepcted and I can't really complain about it since I consider it to be important for the project. Yes , What I expected at the beginning , At the end I am satisfy with all my needs

Some lectures where unnessesairy and long, seeing all the presentations is dull. The lectures were mostly taken for granted. Those who listened benefited. very well organized.Lessons weren't very useful, but the project is the main thing on the course and it's good to see what students can do with their knowledge in the last semester before going to real work. The lectures were very goodit was great, in some way it defines some deadlines for us, it was easier to establish organization this way.the project is interresting and stimulating I was surprised. A very smart wayNo comments here. Some lectures were good, but some were too long, and just theoretical, I would like to see presentations which are related to work in projects, and are more practical All these things were Excellent. The projects were great, the lectures, not so great. Actualy there weren't some specific lectures. The main lecures were the ones we learned our self and that is what is good in this cours because that is the how the things work i a real life. Actually this course was interesting and lectures were good. yeah ita was good In the beginning the lectures were too long. The lectures are superfluous, uninteresting. Students have more then enough obligations without them. The concept is very much fine. I really like lecture given by Stig Larsson which was very helpful to me. But I missed the cultural lecture. This is pure development. Hence, students were given freedom and time which was very novel idea. The concept of overall this course was excellent. In this way, every student are able to speak and given ideas without any hesitation in front of team mates. On this way, student feels self confidence and discuss more ideas with the passage of time. this combination of project with some lectures worked really well for me. very good, especially the project had a lot of new learning for us. the course was great mean while the projects were awsome each project describes every aspect in its passion. I did Public Transportation System. There should be both, as it is. It completes one another. I like how the lectures are only at start and that they cover some major points we have to be aware of in distributed development. I think there should be more courses with actual project rather then exams because i think its more useful in our line of work to study like that. I like the concept very much. A little bit of lectures and many project presentations. Everything was interesting to me. I think it was good with few lectures but if there will more lectures than these lectures then it will be better for students.

it's aranged well with one website as main page. Although you have to find 'news' regarding your project in differend parts of the website.Good support, readily available administration is appreciated. However you must evaluate individuals and take strict corrective or (if needed) terminative action without delay as it reduces the performance of other team members and other teams too.The teaching stuff was very supportive and ready to help. Everything was published on the web and it was done on time.Flawless. I appreciate it, thanks. They had given complete information about course.nothing to say, we had everything we need It was good mostly excellent. However there are some items in context menu of the documents section that take time to learn (i.e. Reorder function). The information was readily available from Teachers, Website, fellow students. The information was provided in an excellent way. It was even more user-friendly than our blackboard system is." No objections can be made about the course administration. Well, maybe about that weekly poll, that ought to be done a bit better. The information was enough. Our project supervisor is so kind and she helped us a lot. it was awesome. I was confused at first how to edit my profile in web page because there isn't a clear guide for that part, everything else was ok. Notifications were always thoroughly written and on time. It was helpful as it have the scope to view the past projects as well as present. It have the facility to upload the documents. good Very good. They were very responsive for any issues. YES, overall information regarding web pages of DSD fulfilled my requirement and provide me correct and right direction. i must compliment the course instructors for keeping the web page up-to date. all the possible queries regarding schedule, presentations and deliverable were pre-answered on the web page. Yes everything was easy to use . It gives each and every information regarding course. One of the most helpful :) Whenever we had some problems there was someone to help us (Ivana, Marin, Igor,...)" Special thanks to Ivana for administration via news but also help on the presentations! I had access to all the information i needed when i needed. Everything was great. I rate the course administration excellent. Web site contained all necessary infos. Teacher and supervisors were always ready to listen to students. I really like the management of the everything like reminder for this form as well.

Time management, handling pressure, effective use of SVN, team collaboration and communication tools. Handling a team leader with insufficient technical knowledge, leadership skills and yet do the work for 3 people to produce the required output.how to use a new type of technology and how to lead a team and what are the main points to look after when you are in charge of leading. Improved my English and confidence in presenting.I learned some new technologies, but more important is experience in distributed team work.I have learned a lot by this course like documentation, java programming.a lot about teamwork and how great team reflects on the quality of work. how to work with far people, importance and meeting and communication new technology, new cultures, new development process methodology. I have learned a lot. I learned dealing with people, working in team, communicating with them. I learned that different cultures have different beliefs and so which is good for one may be bad/not-so-good for other. Also learned coding/documentations but I think it is secondary. :) I have learned a lot in Analysis and Design as I had worked only in Development then. I'd say I've learned a lot about working in a group. With technologies, not so much considering the team's choice was to use familiar ones. The accent is at the english language. It should be more integrated at FER. I have learnt how to work in pressure and also learn Java this was new thing for me because previously i had experience in .net environment. I have learned to work in distributed development environ ment. I have learned working in international group , new technology, new software I have learned many things during this course in both technical and skillful perspectives. I have got idea on all aspects and I became perfect in few aspects of software I have learnd a lot about people and about myself. I have also learned java and Eclipse as an environment so I am satisfied. what it means to work in distributed area with people from 5 countries and i have learned some new tools. It was good learning. risks that are present, problems that may occur , extra situations that are particular in multicultural, distributed team Java, Java Swings and its feature, Oracle query structure, multicultural improvisation, leading skills and many more. yes so many things to mention. As i mentioned before i learned java, java swings and query language. I have learned much about team work, distributed work, new technologies How to cooperate with people from different cultures, stationed at different places, how to communicate when there is a big time difference, what technologies to use. How to develop software in distributed enviroment. I've learned some new things. I've learned to create eclipse plug-in. I've learned usage of testing tools. And i've extended my knowledge of Java. More important is that i gained valuable experience of working on a distributed project(communication, tasks delivery, teamwork...). Team work , New development methodologies, New Language like umple, So many other interesting things like cultural differences how to tackle people .

Good to get a starting and meet the problems. The lectures were complete and full with information. But practical work was needed to understand the value.Defined the project deliverables that needed to be submitted. Talked about svn and cultural differences. The lectures were just informational to give you some insight what are your tasks ahead. To me lessons weren't so interesting and useful. It could be that I wasn't in the mood for listening though.Lectures were good.About all the basics we need to success with the project mostly interesting. Some lectures I think were not really related to distributed software development, or were explaining what students at this level are already supposed to know. I dnt like the lectures between the presentations, they actually break the flow. :( The lectures were very few. But was very useful. Mostly boring (not all of them), sometimes unnecessary, and sometimes even hard to understand (verbally). Special compliments for Ivana and Marin for lecture on the presentation topic. There wasn't to many new things to be learned on theese lecures. For example, if you got onto DSD course you should already know things like SVN... The lectures were good and i get lot of information from them. The lecture about SVN is a little unnecessary since we can learn it during the project anyway. Just excellent. Due to weakness in audio and video I can say excellent. I had no time to attends lectures. They are fine So so. They were not too interesting. good but sometimes very boring since it was long. It is good to prepare it to be concise and to the point. And sometimes when lecture was given from the other site it was quite boring to follow since the sound is not that clear and some interruption was happening do to connection. This is an area of improvement. It should be more fun and interesting like the course. Course lectures was excellent, in the lecture, I learned how to communicate with different cultures as well course related work. Yes the lectures were excellent because Ivica delivered them quite well. Sometimes sound wasn't clear enough. the lectures and faculty were good I think lectures did cover all the major concepts and where quite interesting. Lectures were ok. Some of them useful but i found more interestign those about cultural differences and similar. Where you can hear something totally new. Development processes makes my ears bleed already... The all lectures were very helpful , because that lectures I increased my knowledge level and few new things but over all it was good experience.

Informative and gave us an insight into how the distributed multicultural development would work. There was a problem with the audio and I couldn't hear well.Lecture from Germany had low audio quality so it was hard to understand it.The guest lectures were cooperative for the course and helped a lot during the course.much to learn from them, they gave us very good advicesgood complement Some guest lectures were not relevant to the course I think.A big NO from my side, Please stop guest lectures, some of them were very BORING ( as nobody in class understood what it is all about ). I know cause I discussed with other students. Excellent. Same as above, I didn't distinguish between the guest lectures and normal ones. The guest lecture was also good and provide much more information, I suggest to put guest lecture during projects so that we can benefit more. they were good What guest lectures? Guest lectures were good I remember the one about SVN and I had previously used SVN so I didn't find it that interesting. was very nice that was given by Stig Larsson and it should continue to invite such experienced people. The lecture provided good understanding. YES, it was very nice lecture and I learned new knowledge and apply on the project as much as i can. yes the were good. not well done. Boring The guest lectures from all the three countries were good. And explanation dring these lectures teaches several ddistributed topics. Balance of time given for this lectures and information in this lectures was way of. There should have been more time for these. Apart from that they where interesting. Guest lectures where very good. I liked them. Interesting to hear. It seemed to me there was more talking about lecturers experiences. I think that is most useful. The Guest lectures were also knowledgeable. It also nice to know the experience of people who already went through this process

It was great to work for the project with some team members. But working with the other team members was like holding the responsibility alone for them and at the same time bear their negative effect on the project.I liked to work on the project very much. Except from meeting new friends and cultural differences it was a very nice experience for the future employment too. Because I could ask for help from my team-mates. It was motivating to work when you said to your team that you'll do something. The team spirit is good and i loved it being in the teamit was a pleasureEven if we have some different opinion, we discuss a lot and everybody was active on this project I have too much work to do because the Sweden team is too lazy and they nothing know (they said that) Although I was enthusiastic at the beginning, I'm giving grade 4. Excellent project, but some teammates are not. because it was fun, challenging, in collaboration with really good team members who I would like to work again in future with. Yes yes.. I like working in a project. It was like real environment. Deadline to meet, sometimes didnt know what to do, everything was messed up. But thank god it was not real world. ""Everything which dont kill, will make you stronger""... :). Although we face many problems, But it feels great when project completed and everything was working in end. It make your project completion worth celebrating. I can now say that I can deal with many tedious situations. I liked to work in the multi cultural environment which was more distributed too. Not much to say about this. Challenging project with a great team provided a rather pleasant experience. Work for itself cannot be max graded. hehe I learn a lot of things while working in the project. I didn't like the parts when I couldn't get things to work I really liked. I liked but it is too difficult it needs a very rich manager Very much happy to work in that project It was challenging and ok. since i had a cooperative group members and the project was challenging. Yes, I did, but I but not to say "I loved it!" or "It was thrilling"... it was fine. This was nice experience for me to work in the team and how to manage the team as well as dealing the team. My team performed me very well and fulfilled all the requirement of customer. I absolutely loved it. I really liked the project. Yes, i have worked 201.5 hours as a technical writer in my project team. I liked to work in the project, but sometimes it was really hard because team is distributed and your work may depend on someone else's work. It was very hard for me because of numerous things but overall i more liked it then not it was very nice experience. I had great team. And we did a great job. I'll miss our teamwork. As Design developer i liked to work in the project even as SVN manger as well.

The project advising from the overall staff was good, yet the supervisor could have gained some more interest technically and generally into the project. You could ask the teaching stuff what you are interested and they quickly responded.Especially lectures and supervisors were awsome they encouraged a lot.Constant contact with the customer, supervizor, etc...Could've been better (supervisor)excellent, and there was a plenty of feedback from project supervisor, lecturers and project proposer. In addition we have found several advices outside the university circle.I really like to thank my Supervisor Aneta for this. She was very cooperative. The project was very much interesting. But we were in lack of some resources related to umple. Very high, when it was needed. Aneta help me a lot and also my project. As a whole the advising was good. good Supervisor was involved in the project team and work load, but not as much in the implementation details. Supervision and advising was nice very good. Our supervisor was helpful in many things I would like to thanks to all my supervisors and my fellows as well as teachers to guide me properly to achieve the goal. all the teachers were fully supporting us like friends. The support during the course is good and the supervision is also good. People where happy to help us out any way they could with information regarding details about technology we used. Project advising was very good. Everytime we needed info and guidance we got it. The advises was also perfect from our team supervisor. It helps lot during solving the issues between two parts of team.

Comment - The cooperation between students from FER and MDH was
The MDH students never responded on time, did not complete their work and put in work hours for learning and working on SQL server which were not even planning to use!!The students from MDH had less knowledge and motivation which produced more work for the members from FER. They got more involved at the end of the project. It could be better. In my opinion main problem is that students from MDH were passive. Reason for that could be their lack of knowledge, motivation or both.Cooperation was brilliant.I gave it a 5, although I've heard really bad things from other teams. It can hardly be better. Tasks were given based on skills and everyone were fullfilling them on time. It was a very good co-operation between FER and MDH students Sometimes excellent, sometimes there were conflicts. excellent. There were no problems and we enjoyed working together. For me it was great, for some of others in my team it was not so good. We faced some problems and controversies from both the sides. But then, it disappeared soon. But ended good. Better than I expected. I can say it was good but it can be more better it was good too. We worked together and we don't have any problem with one another. Everything went smoothly. Very bad. great. We made a perfect team which worked together to solve every problem I could have been better. The cooperation from local team members was excellent. Swedish side met regularly with the team members and discuss all the issues, problems, discussion and find solution. On the other hand, swedish side try to resolve all the problem with the FER with the passage of time. In my case we the MDH students had a real good time with FER students. Especially the behavior of ivica was marvelous very friendly. MDH students were not so interested and this course were not very important for them and not high positioned on ther personal scale of priority. We have to appreciate the cooperation of these two countries students I liked very much how our team cooperated. There where times when not everything was great but overall i think it was very good. Well it looks like FER students did most of the job. But i appreciate very much the effort of our colleagues at MDH. This thing have to improve bit may be because of the cultural difference. But the overall sound was not that much good between two parts of One team.

Was 1 of the 2 guys in the team of 7. so it was very heavy, needed too many sleepless nights and still we managed to produce a lot of useful and quality work.very intensive. Had to work a lot, especially because I was the team leader. Spent time on synchronizing members and their work except from developing. More work but very useful experience. I would do it again. I think that I did one big part of the job and I'm glad that I did.I am happy with my workload.Workload on the project alone was OK, but combined with obligations on other courses and private obligations, it turned out to be just short of 'a lot to handle'. I'm get used to do this, so i didn't have to read documentation and spend so much time on my part Just as the course description promised :) My friends were always helping and supporting and it was very well distributed more intensive than normal, but it was something I wanted in order to keep up the pace of my previous work and be busy at the level of full-time employment (along with other subjects) Some of team members were not motivated to work as much they were supposed to do. So others were under heavy work load. It gave me a heavy workload. It is the only project, I have worked with working hours. Pretty normal. Which is, less than I expected. My work load was not heavy but satisfactory. This course is full of fun and also busy work. not too heavy but it was as it was suppose to be. At first my workload was not heavy but day by day in grows as it went to very heavy. It was very heavy sometimes, but overall it is fine normal. At first i was working on some tasks but later since i didn't had my own computer i couldn't install software important for the project and this slowed down my work. My work load was very heavy and spent too much time to fullfil the goal. Most of the days, I awake up whole night to continue work on DSD. Not only mine, eveyone in my team had a lot of work load. we had to work really hard to complete this project. that why i think this course should be of 15 credits instead of 7.5 credits. Yes a lot of work had to be done. It was heavy almost every day and very hard to incorporate with all other courses. It was just more than normal. At times i worked really hard and on other side i didn't work almost at all during winter holidays so i think it ads up. I wasn't under much stress because of the workload. My workload was nothing special. I managed to do all sorts of activities while being enrolled into DSD(and ppl said that i won't be able to :P). My work load was not heavy but sometime special before presentation suddenly work load was increased sometime but I handled that.

The SVN was setup excellently, communication medium established, alas the MDH students either didnt want to use it or didnt know how to use it.Good tech in the TCR and nice chairs :). Easy to sit on them for a lot of hours.Main problem was with Internet connection at student campus Stjepan Radia I often had to connect with my mobile to attend team meeting. The equipment was good without any interruption during the course.good SVN server, as I know he never crash Overall OK, but those separate mics never worked. No commentsI like technology. Internet is great so is skype. It was Excellent.Satisfying. We could have used a bit more project management tools, but we did more than fine this way. Special compliments for that. Problems were, but solving was faster. There should be some improvement in the equipment because when some one talk from FER side it was really difficult to hear the voice specially when some was making some question. Video camera's resolution is not so good. I think it's easy to improve, isn't it? And also the lag (about 3 seconds) on shared screen. I don't think this is a technical problem. And why there's no speaker in the computer in classroom? What if we have voice or music in demo video? I don't understand this question? are you talking about email,sykpe...? There was enough equipment that full the requirement for this course. Equipment was good but not excellent. Camera was not very bright and clear and then there was some latency in the audio and video. Yes The projectors and other equipment during the course helped a lot. We have used Skype (which is really good), emails google web sites, google documents. Equipment was ok but i think there should be some kind of document including some basic information of how it is used. Much time was lost by people standing confused in front of the pcs not knowing what to do in order to share stuff to the other side. Few times we had some problems on the presentations. But in general it was very good. My personal equipment was sufficient. The main tool was Skype , We used skype for communication and sometime for data transfer as well . Second tool was Google group we did all the official documentation on the group like document transfer and posting some information regarding the documents

Dealing with the distanceInteraction with staff and customers. the regular presentations and the course structure.Meeting new people and discovering cultural diffs. Working together and in the end getting the job done! The feeling after the last presentation that went well :). Experiences from the course in new technologies, from development tech to project management tools and discovering your IDE in depth.I liked that course personnel was really helpful and on disposal. Team work was great experience and especially experience in distributed work. Also, course in English language was useful I like Team work . Practical deadlines with presentations instead of exams; Actual meaningful work and result; Experiencing something new; Getting an edge over students who didn't attend DSD; Meeting foreign people; Having lectures in the coolest faculty auditorium; Having a beautiful supervisor; Having a chance to be a part of an international software competition; But most of all, I like that it's over. :) working in team with so many different people. developing something that would probably be in use somewhere in the real world and just something for my own learning purpose. i learned a lot. finish this course with the feeling i can work now on a distrubuted software development English conversation, new friendships, new cultures, presentations. The work on an interesting project with a multicultural team. Co-ordination , management Diversity Cooperation, newly discovered (for myself) things in technology, awesome team mates. 1. Learning environment 2. Working on real world environment/project 3. Ups and downs in the project ( didnt like it before, but I think that was a good experience ) 4. Its always very enjoying to see the developed software working. The thing I liked most in this course is to work with Score. My team. English language and lots of presentations. Developing an interesting project and participating in SCORE competition at the same time I learn the distributed environment and how to work in distributed environment. Way of communication when you are taking to some one you never talk. It also built confidence in me for giving presentations. Real distributed project and work with people from different countries. Distance. The spirit of being distributed. Kind teachers and supervisors. SCORE competition. Learning a new technology Learning to interact with people from diverse cultures Great enthusiasm and energy . To work in distributed development environment. To work with remote team. I liked the help rendered to the students from the staffs. After each presentation they gave us comments and ideas which helped us to improve. Working on an interesting project helping team member to each other to solve a problem 1. Learn new things 2. Management experience. 3. Understanding what distributed system development. 4. Understanding Product line concept. 5. Understanding some agile methods. A good management of time in a distributed environment. I thing I liked most was the project domain. Giving a chance to the students to learn many things I like the idea and I like that you have a supervisor that you have to communicate with. Independence with work Professors and assistants Theme of rpojects distributed work and share work in different place. It was like real life work. The effort put in by my team. Presentations... I just... I loved them very much I like very much to work in the group and all team members are working with each other. Working in distributed environment and people from different countries. Lectures and presentations of different projects. this distributed development was a new experience for me and i really liked it :) The attitude of the teachers, the project, lectures and length of the course duration. Meeting new people from all around the globe, experience of development in distributed environment. The manner in which course is conducted. The Organization of both Universities. People work beyond the cultural differences. I enjoy working in distributed project. meet new friends experience in distributed development
14. The following can be improved in the course:
Joining less presentations, nobody cares. Seeing only 3 or 4 is enouth.Monitoring of individual work. Selection of members. Team making. Corrective action on team members. Not ignoring the wrong and ill-performing members for the sake of decency. In Croatia this course is announced as a very difficult one so the same thing should be done in Sweden too!!! The workload is not equally divided and that is not fair. Improve that! Please strengthen the filter for MDH students that can join this course if there are any. Students from MDH lack knowledge and motivation and this is the main reason for most of the problems. I donot think so. I was lucky enough to have good and capable foreign students on the project team, but from what I've heard from the other teams, some foreign students displayed very low programming and documenting skills. Maybe some kind of qualifying exam prior to enrollment on the Swedish side would improve this?; SVN shouldn't be the only option for code version control - there are more modern and flexible version control systems out there. Some are even distributed (e.g. GIT), like this course. :) it seems that some students dont have the required knowledge for this course, but the bigger problem is that they dont have the will to acknowledge that knowledge. i just really meet my team on the croatian side, maybe some event can be planned to meet in the real life people from crotia and have a quick view of croatian life Make MDH students serious. Maybe entry control - to see who has what kind of programming background and then place him in a suiting group. No comments Application test would be nice. (hope I wrote it good ;)) Version control system can be something else. SVN is not really up-to-date with modern demands. Git or Mercurial would be of a better choise. Also the quality of video transmission during the video conferences could be better I believe. 1. Most Important : Please take a test before admitting students for this course, This course requires some knowledge. there is very less room for learning technology as the course span is just 13 weeks. So there should be an admission test for this course 2. Teams may recommend for expulsion of Student from Course. The give given to every project presentation is very much less I think. It can be changed to at least 20 minutes. 1. Cut down on boring and unnecessary lectures. 2. Obliterate SVN into oblivion, and use newer and more useful versioning support. 3. Create a prettier Powerpoint template (I'm aware that this combination of colours is the best for the projectors, but there are better solutions). 4. Make sure that people joining on Swedish side understand and speak English language, as well as have the necessary technological skills. Can't think of anything important to mention. It think that DSD course should have same preliminary exam. Some people on remote site havent got enough knowledge and that was stopping the project development. DSD course is the real thing. 1. Some improvement in Equipment 2. More involvement of supervisor in the project More lectures/seminars about technologies used in projects. The schedule could be improved a little. We had only one 15 minutes presentation for requirement definition and design description, which is not enough. nothing I can think of Selection process. If development is divided into more then two to three countries. I feel it would be good if we have a project supervisor on both sides, the FER and MDH side.Or else, atleast a project supervisor on the side where there are more students within the project team. Sweedish side must produce more knowledgeable students quality of video and audio conference 1. More control on the communication between FER and MDH students during the course. More innovative projects in future or the students who are enrolled can be given an opportunity to suggest good projects. Have a more formal acceptance process, so that all team members have some basic experience. Don't force project leadership on one particular side. It would be good to make some Pre-requisites for the future students in order to enroll in this course. I think that the project should be commercial. In that way it could evolve more. The SCORE projects are good but sending only one person from the team isn't that much of a motivator. Entrance exam to ensure that only students who know how to develop the software support enroll course. "My advice is that from MDH if students are two years masters they should take this course in second year. Since DSD has like full time work load and for new student especially international student could be challenging. To achieve a full potential work from each student this is important. More guidance from the supervisor and also being in touch with every team member (at least once a month) and get to know his experience and problems. Maybe improve 'team making' so experience and knowledge of one member is not so different to others in team. There is no more than two member in the same country while creating the group like in my group there are 4 Indians. Due to this some times they shows favoritism in working hours, dealing, etc. Project Time was very short and team spent too much time to complete the project. I think requirement should be reduce or project time increase. There could be one or two more lectures on how to manage teams in distributed environment. communication equipment in the lecture rooms. latency can be reduced to improve the communication. The credit hours should be increased from 7.5 to 15 credit hours. Increase the number of ECTS in MDH. Improve quality of audio/video conference at DSD lectures. Team Distribution - Can be by choice equipment should be improved . i do not think so. Because every aspect convinced me and attracted me during the course. Maybe there should be some mechanisms for the project supervisors to see if there is too much workload on one side (FER or MDH). Some students from MDH doesn't like to work that much :( Given the circumstances, everything is great :) More time for presentations. People from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh should be advised to talk slower otherwise they are hard to understand. Nothing else. Some supervisors can have more information about yourself responsibility... more communication, more advices for the team... Course admitance standards. First conduct the test for those who want to enroll into this course so it will be better for the other people who will working in team. cash budget on projects where appropriate
