Real-time systems advanced course 2012 (CDT505)
Real-time systems advanced course. CDT505. Spring 2012.
Responsible of course: Thomas Nolte and Cristina Seceleanu.

Aim

The aim of this course is to give a more diversified picture of what a real-time system is and what requirements can be placed
while developing such systems. The course will give an overview of real-time system research, especially the one conducted
at Mälardalen Real-Time Research Centre (MRTC), here at Mälardalen University. The main purpose is to prepare students
for research related to master thesis work, but also Ph.D. students for continued graduate education.
This aim is achieved by researchers at MRTC (Mälardalen Real-Time Research Centre) giving lectures on their specific
research areas, as well as by the distinguished international researchers that are invited to give lectures in this course.

Students will have to do assignments on topics covered by the lecturers in the form of individual assignments or labs in
groups of two. The course will end by seminars given by the students, who select a topic to study deeper by reading
research papers, preparing paper reports of 2-3 pages each, and presenting them during the last lectures.
