DVA313 - Software Engineering 2: Project Teamwork, 7.5 credits, autumn 2017

In this course, groups of 6-8 students carry out a larger software development project for an external (i.e. from a company, organization or some other part of MDH) client. The project work includes establishing requirements, designing and implementing the system, and testing the result. Each part of the work is documented and presented to the other groups. The project groups are responsible for organizing and planning the work, and for the contacts with the clients. To help them, the groups have weekly meetings with the course assistants/teachers.

2018-01-04 Schedule for the final presentations is now available on the Presentation page, taking into consideration the client requests we have received.

2017-12-08 It can be a good idea to read through the instructions for the weekly meetings (and presentations/deliverables) again, to see if there is something you have forgotten about. You still have two opportunities to impress us in the weekly meeting, giving us a good understanding of how you work systematically with planning and follow-up of the project work.

2017-11-28 Sent out a mail with instructions for the individual input on work distribution, mentioned in the meetings yesterday. Let us know if you have not received a mail about this, and note that the deadline is on Friday (Dec 1st).

2017-10-25 Added the list of proposed projects and sign-up form. Note that we decided to include more project suggestions this year than we normally do, since we got many good proposals. Depending on how many of the admitted students that actually plan to take the course, we will most likely not run all projects on the list.

2017-09-19 Note that all scheduled time is mandatory in this course (except the Important information on October 25). In particular, the first week is very crucial since the project work starts already the first Monday, and you will most likely have your first meetings with the customer in this week.

2017-09-19 Since there were many questions about this last year, it might be good to write it here: In this course, the project groups are formed by the course staff, and not by the students. Before the course starts, we will provide some information about the available projects, and then students can indicate which projects they prefer. Based on this, and other factors, we will put the teams together.
