AI can play a pivotal role in enhancing digital twin technologies, especially when developing a digital twin version of a test platform. The combination of AI and digital twins offers dynamic, real-time simulation, optimization, and predictive capabilities, making test platforms far more efficient, adaptive, and intelligent. We offer an exciting opportunity to work on the application of cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques and Digital Twin technology. The project will focus on developing a digital twin of our existing test platform for evaluating various Cloud Radio Access Network (CloudRAN) applications.

 

As CloudRAN technology evolves, the need for efficient testing and simulation becomes critical. This thesis will focus on:

  • Building a digital twin of the CloudRAN test platform
  • Utilizing AI-driven approaches of the testing platforms
  • Enabling predictive maintenance, performance optimization through AI-enhanced digital twin models

What you will do:

  • Develop and integrate a digital twin of the test platforms
  • Collaborate with the research team to identify and implement AI-driven test optimization methods
  • Conduct experiments and simulations using the digital twin to test various CloudRAN applications
  • Analyze the outcomes of the experiments and develop insights for performance enhancement

Prerequisites:

Academic Background

1. A solid understanding of digital systems engineering principles.

2. Basic knowledge of machine learning. Knowledge of testing aspects, or cloud computing, or networking, or Digital Twin technologies is a plus

3. Prior coursework on embedded systems, machine learning / AI, testing.

4. Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

 

Technical Skills

1. Experience with programming languages such as Python.

2. Familiarity with tools such as Matlab and Simulink is a plus.
