Title: | AR/VR/MR technologies in collaboration with Leax |
Subject: | Produktutveckling, Produktion, Industrial Systems, Applied Artificial Intelligence |
Level: | Advanced |
Description: |
Problem description: Training new machine operators requires time, cost, and resources. This can be improved by leveraging Mixed Reality (MR) or Virtual Reality (VR) technologies to provide interactive and immersive learning experiences.
Overall objective: To explore the feasibility, limitations, and potential of AR/VR/MR technologies in streamlining operator training processes. By designing and interacting with these environments, the study aims to lay the groundwork for broader adoption of immersive technologies in training and to provide a foundation for future enhancements.
Research questions: -What key factors should be considered when developing a resource-efficient and cost-effective training plan using AR/VR or MR? -What are the potential limitations and challenges of using AR/VR or MR in operator training? -What are the measurable benefits of using immersive technologies compared to traditional training methods? -How can the training modules be integrated into the current production and training systems?
Evaluation metrics: -Successful creation of an AR/VR or MR environment for training of machine perators. -Detailed report on the performance, benefits, and limitations of the concept. -Document lessons learned and insights for further development. -Estimation of time and cost savings in operator training compared to traditional methods.
Envisaged solution: Develop an intuitive AR/VR or MR-based training module that provides step-by-step machine set-up instructions. The solution should be easy to use, requiring minimal prior technical knowledge, and should enhance learning through immersive visualizations and hands-on simulations. |
