Title: | Automate Excavator Undercarriage parts measurement through Computer Vision and Machine learning |
Subject: | Computer science, Software engineering |
Level: | Basic, Advanced |
Description: |
The thesis work is a part of a collaboration project Trust_Gen_Z:Trustworthy Generative AI for Advanced Industrial DigitaliZation between Volvo CE and Mälardalen University.
Description of Thesis Work The thesis will build on an existing Machine learning and computer vision-based model, identifying the as-is wear of undercarriage parts for the excavator machine. You will be evaluating and choosing method(s) which provide acceptable accuracy and explainability. The tasks of the thesis include: 1. Implement advanced machine learning model to classify wear for undercarriage parts 2. Automate the measurements of undercarriage parts 3. Provide an explanation of the classification This can be suitable for the student with studies within for example Computer Science/ AI Engineering or equivalent. Computer vision, AI and Machine learning are valuable skill sets. Some programming skills in Python are essential. If you think this sounds interesting and that it can meet your thesis goals, we would be grateful to have you as an applicant. For further information, please get in contact with us.
