Title: | Performance assurance for cloud-native applications |
Subject: | Computer network engineering, Computer science, Software engineering |
Level: | Advanced |
Description: |
The intended system is a cloud-native software system which monitors the performance of (a) running service within a virtual machine or container and performs automatic (horizontal) resource scaling upon detecting any performance degradation for the running service. Horizontal scaling in cloud refers to provisioning additional instances to deal with the coming load and keep the Service Level Agreement (SLA) satisfied. This system could be implemented on Xen virtualization technology (hypervisor) and OpenStack open source cloud platform. Meanwhile, it could be also implemented on Amazon cloud platform (AWS) which is accessible for MDH people freely for one year.
