Title: Interactive digital platform to increase physical activity in older people
Subject: Robotics, Dependable Aeronautics and aerospace
Level: Advanced
Description: Physical activity is one of the main factors for improving physical and mental health in older age, both as prevention and treatment for several diseases. In a physically isolated everyday life partly due to the COVID-19 pandemic but also very common for older people, the possibilities to increase physical activity need to be investigated and new digital solutions need to be developed. The aim of this Master project is to develop an interactive digital platform for older people integrating intelligent behavior, sensor technology, real-time signal processing, feedback and human machine interaction.

The Master thesis will be part of a collaborative project also involving researchers and students from Panama and Colombia. In addition to the engineering aspect of the project, two students will have the opportunity to develop their managing and team working skills in an international setting. The thesis will kick off with a study visit to Panama and Colombia to meet the team members and to discuss the status and planning of the project.

The precise scope of the project will be defined between students and supervisor and take into consideration the actual status of the project together with the skills of the student/s.
